The role of ISO/IEC 15504

ISO/IEC 15504 standard is a framework for process assessment that is used by TIPA®.

ISO/IEC 15504 is the international standard that defines the framework and requirements for process assessment and process improvement. Process capability is measured by analyzing process performance or capability indicators collected during the process assessment. It enables to determine the process maturity: to what extent each process is performed, managed, established, predictable or optimizing (6-level capability scale).

TIPA maps each of the IT process that is assessed onto the scale set by the ISO 15504 standard.
